Our Story

We’re Spicy Heo Kimchi — a Korean-American duo handcrafting small-batch kimchi in Minnesota.

Our story started when Tayva (Minnesota-born) met Yeong (born and raised in South Korea) in college. One thing led to another… and eventually to kimchi.

Tayva developed our recipe through years of testing and learning directly from Yeong’s mom—combining family techniques with a more vegan-friendly approach so more people could enjoy it.

We started Spicy Heo Kimchi because we wanted to share that same love with our community. Our Napa cabbage kimchi brings deep, tangy flavor and natural probiotic goodness to your table. We make it ourselves with real ingredients, no shortcuts, and fermented just right.
